Netbina brings Samsung and Virgool together for a fresh perspective on technology

In early December, Samsung asked its audience to reflect on how smartphones and other electronic devices helped them manage their lives during lockdown times and invited them to share their experiences on Virgool, an Iranian blogging platform. The campaign went on for three weeks, and we held the final event on January 7th in Netbina’s Studio. The winners received Samsung smartphones, smartwatches, and earbuds.

The #tellyourstory campaign invited the audience to contemplate their electronic devices’ role in helping them get through these difficult times.

“Our smartphones and electronic devices have gone a long way in bringing us closer together. With #tellyourstory, we aimed to learn from one another, to see how, in these unusual days, our electronic devices have helped us to overcome challenges and adapt ourselves to the new routine. #tellyourstory was all about your experiences.”

Participants could write on different topics such as health and fitness, communication, social life, free time, and work. They could write about how, using their smartphones/electronic devices, they had managed to keep in touch with friends and family, found ways to exercise and stay fit, enjoyed their free time with podcasts, games, and videos, or worked more efficiently.

They could also write about other features that they would like to have – features that would make these tools even more effective in facilitating everyday life. They then needed to publish their writings on Virgool using the campaign hashtag.

Netbina asked three renowned Iranian journalists and authors to go through the writings and choose the most captivating and powerful ones among them. Samsung awarded the winners with special prizes, including a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra for the first-place winner.
